About Brooklyn Ashley
Brooklyn Ashley makes luxury linens for people whose business is other people's comfort.
Most bedding is designed for a household. It is washed every other week, by the person who chose it, in a machine they own. Hospitality linen lives a completely different life: washed twice a week or more, by someone who did not choose it, judged by a stranger who will write about it afterwards.
Those two things need to be engineered differently, and almost nothing on the market admits it. Supply catalogs sell durability and look like supply catalogs. Luxury bedding brands sell beauty and quietly fall apart under a commercial wash.
What we are trying to do
Build linen that a guest would happily have at home, and that a housekeeper can put through a hundred washes without it going grey, thin or mismatched.
That means publishing the numbers that actually predict how something wears — the weave, the staple length, the grams per square metre — rather than a thread count chosen by a marketing department. It means holding colours for years so a property can replace one sheet instead of twelve. And it means triple-stitching a hem that nobody will ever look at.
The other half of the job
Selling linen to a property is easy. Helping them work out how much they need is the part nobody does well, and it is the part that decides whether they run out on a Saturday.
That is why the Property Linen Calculator is on the front page rather than buried in a help section, and why the Resource Center answers the question properly even when the answer is "you need less than you thought".
