Linen is the one fibre that genuinely improves for years. Ours is spun from European flax and stonewashed before it ships, so it arrives already soft rather than asking your guests to break it in.
It is meant to look relaxed. If your housekeeping standard is a pressed, flat, hotel-crisp bed, buy the percale instead — linen will fight you.

Best for retreats and cabins where the room is part of the stay. Dries faster than cotton, which matters in humid climates.
Wash warm with like colours. A commercial wash at 60°C is fine and will not shorten the life of the fibre. Tumble dry low and remove while very slightly damp — that is the single habit that keeps cotton feeling new.
Skip fabric softener. It coats the fibre, and a coated fibre stops absorbing, which is exactly the opposite of what you paid for.
